Bailishi single-component tile back adhesive is a ready-to-use bonding primer designed for application to the back of tile and selected stone products before installation with cement mortar or tile adhesive. The supplied material describes water resistance, flexibility, and resistance to aging and temperature changes.
Compatible Facing Materials
The source instructions identify the following materials as typical applications:
- Polished or vitrified tile
- Antique-style ceramic tile
- Mosaic tile
- Marble
- Engineered stone
- Natural stone
Surface Preparation
Keep the bonding surface clean, sound, and dry. Remove oil, wax, dust, loose particles, and other contaminants that could interfere with adhesion.
Application Procedure
- Open the container and stir the product thoroughly. Do not add water.
- Roll an even coat onto the back of the tile, mosaic, marble, engineered stone, or other compatible facing material.
- Allow the coating to change to a transparent appearance as described in the supplied instructions.
- Install the treated material with the specified cement mortar or tile adhesive.
- Complete a jobsite adhesion test before full-scale application.
Reference Coverage and Conditions
The source material lists reference coverage of approximately 129–151 sq. ft. per kg (12–14 m²/kg). Actual coverage depends on the surface profile, roller, application thickness, material loss, and jobsite conditions.
- Reference application temperature: approximately 34–100°F (1–38°C).
- Do not apply outdoors during rain.
- Keep the bonding surfaces clean and dry.
- Avoid allowing the adhesive to run onto the finished face, where cleanup may be difficult.
- Protect eyes and skin during use. If material enters the eyes, rinse with clean water and seek medical attention if discomfort continues.
